Connections. Spring Update 2021

As ever, the beginning of the year whizzes by all too quickly. We’re heading into spring now with hundreds of books on the horizon and plenty to be excited about. For those of you, like us, with lots of projects in the works, you may be wishing this first quarter was that bit longer. But with the prospect of the cogs of society turning again some point in the near-future, book publishing has lots to do.

For Glassboxx, this year marks expansion, growth and improvement. With more and more users reading with the Glassboxx app, we’re sharpening our focus to do what we do best, better. More customer service insights, more features and more opportunities.

What’s more, Nielsen finds that digital titles thrived in 2020 with 95 million eBooks sold and 23 million audiobooks. It’s a brilliant time to be innovating in digital publishing and Glassboxx is here to answer the call. 2020 tested the industry, but it has also shown that the digital boom doesn’t stop, it just gets louder.

Glassboxx Dashboard

We’re all about upping the ante for publishers. You get more revenue with Glassboxx. You get paid quicker with Glassboxx.

That’s why we’re committing to paying our vendors within 14 days of the end of the sale month. You are our priority, and we want you to know it.

It’s always thrilling to see online mentions out of the blue, but very rewarding in this case that we’re seeing Glassboxx being recognised last month for its core values and how it helps publishing. Writing on how to buy books ethically, Annette Peppis lists Glassboxx among other great channels and resources.

“Now there’s a better alternative [to kindle]: a new free app which allows you to bypass Amazon and order ebooks directly from the publisher…”

She highlights that buying directly from readers, via Glassboxx, is a great way to support publishers. Sustainability and fairness for publishers is becoming more important to readers and we’re delighted to see it.

Top Tips

Glassboxx shines when your authors are involved from the get go. Have your authors got big followings? Make the most of it. Customise your product pages and make your book stand out, then give your authors everything they need to post about the book on Twitter or Instagram.

We mentioned some of our social media book-centric marketing last month – and we extend our offer to get involved. Let us know about your major titles. Encouraging authors to take part in marketing can be game-changing. Create graphics for them to share, or work with us.

This year, we’ve had our twitter inundated with dog lovers (Olive, Mabel and Me) and food lovers (Gennaro’s Good Food for Hard Times), so we’re on board with anything. The simple fact is, when authors post to their followers, we see sales.

Check out our refreshed social media look – it’s busy, it’s colourful and it’s all about your books. Keep a lookout for our publisher highlights, rounding up our top five of your latest titles, or our individual book highlights. We’re making a point of creating book-centric, easily shareable content. We’ll tag you, you need only share and retweet.
