A Night at the Nibbies!

The Glassboxx team had an unforgettable experience at this year’s British Book Awards, an event that brings together many of the brightest and most passionate minds in the publishing industry. As Philip Jones said in his opening speech, books bring us together, and this was clear as we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our peers and all the incredible work happening across the literary world.

We were incredibly proud to sponsor the Independent Publisher of the Year award, a category that highlights independent publishers’ creativity, resilience, and innovation. Congratulations to Profile Books, this year’s worthy winners, and to all those who made the shortlist—each publisher exemplifies the diversity and richness that independents bring to the industry.

The Nibbies is more than just an awards ceremony; it’s a celebration that underscores the collaborative and creative nature of publishing, reminding us of the power of community and the innovation that comes from working together. Every award signifies countless work hours from whole teams of people, each inspired by a love of stories!

For anyone who was either there in person or viewing the live stream, it’ll be clear why the Nibbies have been called the Oscars of the book world. We had an amazing time with new friends and old, from catching up over dinner to throwing shapes on the dance floor! Each year, this celebration brings inspiration and motivation, but more than this, a way to get everyone from authors and illustrators to publishers and rights agents in the same room. With our mission of connecting publishers and readers, this sense of community is one of the things we love most.
