What a way to start the week! The 35th British Book Awards lit up London’s Grosvenor House with glitz, glamour, and hundreds of book lovers all cheering on the best and brightest from across the UK publishing industry and celebrating the outstanding achievements of authors, publishers, and booksellers.

Glassboxx was proud to sponsor the Independent Publisher of the Year award – we champion innovation in publishing, so supporting an award that recognises exactly that was a privilege. This category highlights the remarkable work of publishers pushing creative boundaries and making bold moves.

The shortlist was so strong this year that not one, but two winners were chosen for the very first time! Magic Cat Publishing wowed judges with their beautifully illustrated children’s titles, bold commissioning strategy, and commitment to sustainability, making reading magical for young minds. And Boldwood Books blew judges away with their meteoric growth, tech-savvy marketing, and a strong community of authors and readers.

Congratulations to both publishers on this hugely well-deserved recognition. We love to see publishers driving innovation, especially when the result of this is a more diverse and dynamic publishing landscape.
