Digital Rights Management with Glassboxx

How does the digital rights management (DRM) work?

The DRM built into Glassboxx uses an open source tool based on rock solid encryption algorithms (AES-256) and classical PKI techniques. Assets are encrypted by us and then supplied to the end customer via the Glassboxx apps together with the appropriate licence. The apps decrypt the assets allowing the content to be read/listened to. Assets encrypted with the DRM can only be used with our apps. Other ereader/player apps, eg. Kindle, Audible, iTunes, Apple Books, Kobo, Adobe Digital Editions, Windows Media Player etc cannot be used with assets encrypted with Glassboxx’s DRM.

Can an end customer read/listen to audiobooks/eBooks from other suppliers using the Glassboxx apps?

At this stage, only audiobooks/eBooks fulfilled using Glassboxx can be read/listened to using the Glassboxx apps.
